Steps to Apply for Emirates ID Online
The application service via ICP Smart Service is available 24/7 to UAE Citizens and Residents, GCC Citizens and resident, and Visitors only.

Follow the steps listed below to apply:
Register or Login to UAE Pass
First, step for you is to login or create an UAE Pass account via the Smart Service ICP website or through the UAE Pass app. Then login visit the link https://smartservices.icp.gov.ae/
The First step to apply is to submit your Application through the ICP Website. If you are inside Dubai, you can submit your application through an accredited typing Centre.
Fill up application
The second step is to apply for the application from Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security.
You will need the following documents to apply for Emirates ID.
- Photo (4.5 x 3.5 cm) with a white background
- Copy of Passport.
- Copy of Residency or Entry Permit.
- Family Book (*UAE Nationals).
Pay fees
Pay for the service and card fee, which will vary depending on the visa you are applying for. 3 Emirates ID fee category UAE National, GCC or Resident or Expats or Residents.
UAE National and GCC National are charged AED 100 dirhams for 5 years of validay and Residents must pay AED 100 dirhams for every 1 year.

Appointment for Biometric Scan
After your application gets approved, you will receive a text message that contains the time and date of the ICP Center.
Visit the ICP’s service centre to provide your biometric details for the Emirates ID database. If you are applying this for the first time then you must provide your Biometrics scan such as your fingerprint.
All applicants who are age 15 years and above are required to provide their biometric data.
You might need to check for available dates for a biometric appointment online and reschedule, sometimes you might not get your desired date if slots are full.
Receive your Emirates ID
Final step is to collect your Emirates ID, After you have completed all the steps above, you will receive your Emirates ID within 5 to 6 working days.
You can keep track of your application through the website. You will receive an SMS message from ICP informing you that you can collect your Emirates ID at your local post office.
