What is a Dependent or Family Residency Visa in UAE? 

A UAE Family Residency Visa, better known as a dependent visa, allows you to bring and live with your family, including your spouse/children and parents, as a resident in the United Arab Emirates.

Allows workers to sponsor their family members to live with them and work in the UAE. With a dependent visa, Family members can access and enjoy many services the UAE offers.

Process to Apply for a UAE Dependent Visa in UAE

Below are the steps to apply for a Dependent visa in the United Arab Emirates: 

1. Apply For Entry Permit: The first step is to apply for an entry permit for your family members by you or your employer. You can apply for the entry permit online through the GDFRA Website or in person by visiting an accredited typing center. 
2. Schedule Medical Test: As soon as your Family member is inside the UAE, start your application by visiting a government-approved health center to get an approved Medical Report. 
3. Apply for Health Insurance: Health Insurance is required for the visa application. You can get one by visiting a local Health Insurance company or by searching online. 
4. Gather Required Document: Gather all your documents and important information such as passport, proof of income, accommodation, and other documents, as mentioned earlier.  
5. Submit Application: You can submit your application in person at the GDFRA Office or through an online third-party channel such as Amer. Additionally, you can submit your application through an accredited typing center, which can make things much easier for you. 

Requirements for UAE Family Residency Visa

Before applying for the UAE’s family residency visa, you must check both the general and personal requirements:

General Requirements 

• The sponsor must hold a valid residence permit /visa. 
• Male Sponsor must have a minimum monthly salary of 4000 AED or 3000 AED with Accommodation (Rented or Property) 
• Female Sponsors must have a minimum monthly salary of AED 10,000 or AED 8,000 plus accommodation. 

Additional Requirements 

• Family Members over the age of 18 must take a Medical Test. Unfit members may be denied visas. 
• The sponsor has 60 days (about 2 months) to apply for his dependent’s visa after they enter UAE under an entry permit. 

Documents required for the UAE Family Visa

You must prepare the following documents for UAE’s family visa:

1. Application Form 
2. Passport Copies of the Family members 
3. Photos of the Family members 
4. Medical clearance certificate of members above 18 years old 
5. Copy of the employment contract or company certificate 
6. The salary certificate of the sponsor stating the salary by the employer 
7. Attested Marriage Certificate 
8. Registered Tenancy Contract
